A state of the art snowmaking system installed during the 2019 season allows for a solid base of snow on the main groomed runs. This combined with our grooming team that maintains the slopes nightly, guarantees amazing corduroy every morning and great conditions all season long.
Safety on the slopes is managed by the Portillo ski patrol team. Led by experienced snow safety director Frank Coffey, this team ensures conditions on the mountain are safe for all guests. Overseeing snow conditions, control of avalanche terrain and skier safety, the ski patrol team is stationed at different spots throughout the ski area. Please obey any closures and consult with ski patrol if you have any questions regarding safety.
