Relive the legend of the Inca Lagoon.

The legend says that, hundreds of years ago, a passionate Inca named Illi Yunqui fell in love with Princess Kora-llé. During a grand celebration, the princess walked along a narrow path on one of the mountain slopes, facing the lagoon. Due to her elaborate dress and the weight of her jewelry, along with the difficult conditions of the path, the princess slipped and fell down the slope.

Although Illi Yunqui ran to save her, by the time he reached her, she had already lost her life. Overcome with deep sorrow, he believed that no human tomb could be worthy of holding the princess’s beauty, so he decided to bury her in the waters of the lagoon.

Wrapped in white linen, the graceful body of the princess descended into the deep blue, and from that moment on, the water was tinted with the emerald hue of the princess’s eyes—eyes that the son of the sun would never awaken again.

On the crystal surface of this lagoon, on certain full moon nights, cries can be heard that disturb its stillness. Perhaps it is a spell that tells us this story of love and tragedy, veiled by the silent cloak of snow.
